Our Teasley Distinguished Gentlemen and PEARLS students need your help! They will be assembling care packages to distribute to those in need as a community service project. They are asking for donations of items to include in these care packages. Please consider signing up to donate one or a few of these items. A box in the lobby will be available to collect the donations. Thank you in advance for your support!! We will be accepting these donations until November 7th.

Treats for Troops!!!
Our Student Council is partnering with A+ Pediatric Dentistry of Atlanta again this year to collect candy for Operation Gratitude! Operation Gratitude is a non-profit organization that ships care packages to our troops around the globe. On Thursday and Friday, Nov. 1-2, bring in some of your extra Trick or Treating candy to share with the troops. You can also take your candy to the Candy Buy Back Party at A+ Dentistry on Thursday, Nov. 1 from 4:00-6:00.

  • In math be learning about using various visual tools to help us multiply (arrays and areas models). The 2nd quarter focuses a lot on multiplication, so it is important that students are fluent with facts. Please have them practice at home. I will begin a new incentive program with them this week. It is called Multiplication Sundae. With each group of facts that they memorize, they will earn a part of an ice cream sundae. By our holiday break in December, we will have a sundae social and they will be able to redeem what they have earned.
  • We will also be learning more about life after the American Revolution and how the founders had to reflect in order to make compromise.

About Red Ribbon Week:
Red Ribbon Week is a time for us to focus on healthy behaviors and drug and bully free choices.   The theme is “Life is your Journey-Travel Drug Free”

Red Ribbon week was started all across the United States in 1985 in honor of a United States drug enforcement officer who was harmed by people who sold drugs.  People started wearing and displaying red ribbons to show support for the fight against drugs. This month, October, is also National Bullying Prevention Month.

This week we will have special fun theme days each day to show our support and remind us of the fight against bullying and drugs as well as our decision to make healthy choices.
****Remember, You still have to wear standard school attire bottoms  (except for career dress up day)!!
MONDAY-“Red Ribbon Day”-Wear a Red Shirt and get your Red Ribbon
TUESDAY-“Put a sock on Bad Choices”-Wear crazy or mismatched socks.
WEDNESDAY- “I can be anything when I am drug and bully free-My Dream Career Day”-Dress up as a career you want to be when you grow up.
THURSDAY- “Teasley Elementary School is PAWsitively Drug and Bully Free”-Wear Teasley Spirit wear.
FRIDAY- “Team up against Bullying and Drugs”-Wear a team jersey or shirt.

If you have any questions about Teasley’s celebration of Red Ribbon Week, contact the School Counselors- Mrs. S. Harris or Mrs. C. Oliver.

Career Day was amazing! Special thanks to Mr. Anderson for his time and for teaching us all about what an Executive Coach does.
