Learning objectives this week...
Unit of Inquiry Theme: HOW WE EXPRESS OURSELVES (An inquiry into the ways we reflect on, extend and enjoy our creativity)
  • We will continue our learning about the structure of constructed responses to text. (Assessment Friday)
  • We will continue our literary book study on the book Wonder. We will continue our learning of how to use the RACE strategy. Please remember that students should be reading a minimum of 20 minutes daily. 
  • In math we will continue our learning of how to multiply fractions by whole numbers. (Assessment Wednesday). We will begin our learning of making equivalent fractions using tenths and hundredths.
  • We will continue our learning of the Civil War. (assessment Friday)
  • In grammar we will continue using figurative language in our writing.

  • We will be beginning our learning of the Civil War. 
  • In grammar we will continue using figurative language in our writing. Our focus this week will be on idioms,hyperbole and personification. Task on Friday.
Report cards will be distributed Friday.

Learning objectives this week...
Unit of Inquiry Theme: HOW THE WORLD WORKS (An inquiry into the interaction between the natural world (physical, biological and human societies)
  • We will continue our learning about the structure of constructed responses to text. 
  • We will continue our literary book study on the book Wonder. We will continue our learning of how to use the RACE strategy. Please remember that students should be reading a minimum of 20 minutes daily. 
    • We are in full swing of adding books to our "Shelfie". Please encourage your child to participate, so that they can take part in our book celebration at the end of the quarter. We will have our "Shelfie" celebration on 3/22.
  • In math we will continue our learning of how to add and subtract fractions with mixed numbers and like denominators (class task on Wednesday). We will also begin learning about line plots.
  • We will be learning about weather. 
  • In grammar we will continue using figurative language in our writing. Our focus this week will be on idioms. Task on Friday.
We have early dismissal this Wednesday. Please plan accordingly and let me know in writing if there are any changes in transportation. 

If you would like your child to attend the 4th & 5th grade dance, please send in $10 by Tuesday. Tickets are $15 at the door.

Yearbooks are still on sale as well. Ordering information was sent home with students.


If you were unable to attend SPECIALS NIGHT at Teasley but still would like to purchase your child's framed artwork, it is not too late!  Please send $27 (cash only) in an envelope marked ART SHOW which includes your child's name and their teacher.  Payments must be made by Thursday, March 14th.  We will contact you when your child's artwork arrives at Teasley!  Any questions, please contact Caroline.Adams@cobbk12.org.  Thank you so much!!
