Learning objectives this week...
Unit of Inquiry Theme: HOW THE WORLD WORKS (An inquiry into the interaction between the natural world (physical, biological and human societies)
  • We will continue learning about the structure of narrative writing. 
  • We will continue our literary book study on the book Wonder. We will study  how we can compare similar themes and topics across texts. Assessment Monday. (This was rescheduled from last Friday). We will begin learning about point of view (1st person & 3rd person perspectives) Assessment Friday. Please remember that students should be reading a minimum of 20 minutes daily. 
    • We are in full swing of adding boos to our "Shelfie". Please encourage your child to participate, so that they can take part in our book celebration at the end of the quarter.
    • Six Flags Reading logs are due Feb 11th.
  • In math we will be continue to learn about measurement.
  • We will continue our learning of light and sound.
  • In grammar we will be focusing on using prepositions and prepositional phrases in our writing. (Task on Friday)
Do you love playing percussion instruments like the drums? Do you love performing? If so, the Teasley Pentatonics Orff Ensemble is for you! The Teasley Pentatonics is an instrument ensemble that will meet on Wednesday afternoons in the Music Room starting February 27th. Ms. Harris will be holding auditions for the ensemble during your specials time the week of February 11th, right before February break. If you are interested, see Ms. Harris or your classroom teacher for an audition packet. Ms. Harris can't wait to make music with you!
