Learning objectives for the week:
Unit of Inquiry Theme: Sharing the Planet: An inquiry into communities and the relationships within and between them.

  • We will continue to learn about various contributors to our society. We will be finishing our informational piece of writing on an individual whose actions had a significant impact on the American Revolution. We will practice this week how we can explain events, procedures, ideas, or concepts in a historical, scientific, or technical text, including what happened and why, based on specific information in text. There will not be an official assessment in reading this week.
  • We will learn how to use commas in our sentences. We will have a classwork task on this on Thursday 9/20.
  • In math we will learn how to add all sides to find the perimeter of rectangles and squares. We will have a classwork task on this on Thursday.
  • We will continue to learn about Ecosystems and communities within ecosystems.
Our field trip is this Friday! The absolute last day to turn in money is Tuesday. As of last Friday, we did not have the participation across the grade level of students for the field trip. Therefore, we have extended the deadline until Tuesday.Tuesday is the absolute last day to turn in money.

Thursday is our 4th grade Wax Museum in the cafeteria. Families are invited to come enjoy the hard work that your child has been doing as they have learned about figures who have contributed to change. We invite you to join us from 8:30-9:00. We hope to see you there.
