Learning objectives this week...

Unit of Inquiry Theme: (Finishing- Sharing the Planet: An inquiry into communities and the relationships within and between them.)

  • We will wrap up our learning about various contributors to our society. We will start our research about ecosystems and the roles that various plants and organisms play within them. In our research we will learn to read closely paying special attention to important information. We will take notes of important facts and determine how we can organize them to teach others about our research. There will be an assessment on Friday on close reading and how to understand information that is important in text. Please remember that students should be reading a minimum of 20 minutes daily. It is during this time that they can practice this skill.
  • We will learn how to write compound sentences and use coordinating conjunctions in our writing. We will have a classwork task on this on Friday 10/5.
  • In math we will continue our learning of finding the perimeter of figures. Assessment will be Thursday.
